Remembering College Days
After many months I walked past my college
Where I spent my last educational age
I came here to attend a wedding at the college church
Towards it, with an element of nostalgia, I lurch.
A smiling girl during my college days is starting a new life
And today she is to become someone’s wife.
Today most of my college guys got a chance to gather
To spend sometime together.
Came to know that
Some of the people with whom in college days, I ferried
Have all got married.
I heard few people have gone abroad
Some in great assignments
Some engaged
Felt great to hear that all were settled in life
And happy to hear some have even become wives!
At the gathering
Saw few old faces that used to come in casuals
Now were all dressed up like professionals!
Met the same old faces
Big enough to make a gang
I wished I could go back
Get back those fresh memories in sack
And with each other play
As we did in college days!
Laughter & chatter was the order of the day
It was a fun all the way.
Many get-togethers, events, work were all fun
Even when being the target of teachers’ gun!
Towards the end
Preparing for project reviews & job interviews
People become so busy
Sometimes even fussy.
Finally it all came to an end
And time had come to say ‘good bye’ to my friends.
I remember the farewell day
Where from the college, we were shown out the way
I remember fighting back my tears
When juniors & teachers were giving us cheers.
I remember, wearing mask of smile
Still surprised, how I was able to hold it all that while.
Finally it was time to part
Had to do so with heavy heart.
Today life is full of commitments & worries
To get those precious moments I long
But only to realize it has become, in my heart, a beautiful song.
Those college days’ pranks and comments
Has today become cherished moments
Those funny moments of reality yesterday
Today has become cherished memories!
